The Smithsonian and Shepard Fairey

17 11 2008

smithsonian_shepard1I have a friend that’s been collecting Shepard Fairey originals for the past 10 years or so. The arrays of portraits that grace his walls are pretty sic, not to mention he bought them for such a small figure back in the day. As the amazing Fairey grows more in popularity, the monetary value of his work continues to increase BIG! After all the widespread attention he received with his Obama portraits, the SMITHSONIAN is now pushing for a giant fine art version of SHEPARD FAIREY’s iconic portrait of the now-president elect BARACK OBAMA!

Holy shit! That’s epic! Besides his work portraying the most monumental election in the history of the U.S., he’s going in the SMITHSONIAN. You’ll hold on to those Fairey pieces if you know what’s good.
