Franz Ferdinand and “Tonight”

23 01 2009

franzferdinandtonightalbumcovYet another band with its third album underway, the good ole Scots from Glasgow, Franz Ferdinand are coming through with what sounds like an exceptionally hot album:“Tonight.” Set to titillate your ears until your body starts to move and groove, this new album is more dance inspired, than their old rocky predecessors. With their previous albums encompassing more rock rifts and catchy power chords, “Tonight” is fused with more unique beats and instrumentals. Putting out a sexy, exotic sound, that at times feels like you’re back in the free-spirited days of the 70’s, get ready to let that body gyrate.

The album’s pretty damn good. It’s one of those albums you get addicted to listening to upon purchase. You know, the kind you play over and over for weeks on end? Check it out for yourself and stream the entire album at no cost here.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs Blitz!

23 01 2009

The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s are back at it again and plan on droppin’ some new tunes this coming spring. And it’s about time! I’ve been sick of all them
Karen O’ copy cats!

Their third album to be called “Blitz” should be quite the charm. Afterall, “third time’s a charm.”

Top 10 Albums of 2008

13 01 2009

Lots of crap and some good came out in 2008. It was a close race between the Jonas Brothers and The Black Keys for the top spot, but for some reason I just had to lean toward The Keys.

With no further adieu, Grimygoods’ Top 10:

1. Attack and Release – The Black Keys
2. Youth Novels – Lykee Li
3. Midnight Boom – The Kills
4. Loyalty to Loyalty – Cold War Kids
5. Santogold – Santogold
6. Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson – Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson
7. For Emma, Forever Ago – Bon Iver
8. Modern Guilt – Beck
9. Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust – Sigur Ros
10. Dear Science, – TV on the Radio

Albums that really chapped my hide:

1. Only By The Night – Kings of Leon
2. Tha Carter III – Lil’ Wayne
